Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

The Doctoral candidate by research is supervised by an academic staff (or a panel of supervisors) from the faculty. The directed research work will focus on a particular subject that introduces candidate to the processes by which new knowledge is developed or/and applied accordingly.

The specific topic of investigation will be agreed upon by the supervisor (or panel of supervisors) and the candidate. The academic progress of a candidate is assessed through a research. Progress report is submitted at the end of each semester.

The degree is awarded based on an oral examination (viva-voce) of the thesis submitted by the candidate on completion of the study. Candidates intending to study by research may submit their application for admission throughout the year.

PhD - Technology Management

Competent in the area of technology strategy, innovation management, digital transformation, and optimizing technological resources for business success.

PhD - Entrepreneurship

Competent in the area of business innovation, venture creation, startup development, and strategic entrepreneurship for sustainable growth.

    Full-time : Min 3 years, Max 8 years

    Part-time : Min 4 years, Max 8 years

  • Admission requirement

    • a recognized Master's degree in business-related field or its equivalent
    • An applicant with degree not related to the field of Business undergo appropriate pre-requisite courses determined by UITeM
    • An applicant with degree not related to the field of Business who has relevant indusrial field related to Business can be accepted and suject to RIA

Bachelor of Technopreneurship (BTEC)

About This Programme

The course discusses issues and concepts such as framing of ventures in terms of people, opportunities, contexts and deals. Students will be equipped with management, technology and technopreneurship knowledge. The uniqueness of this program lies within the 24 courses offered which totally focus on developing the students to be real technopreneurs.

Beside the knowledge courses, BTEC students will also participate in two business plan courses; one which is related to general business venture and another specializing in the technology-based business venture. This will help students to start up business while still pursuing their degree or upon graduation. The BTEC students will also be provided assistance in seeking business partners and venture capital to turn their business ideas into reality. Occasionally business matching events will be organized to support the above intentions.
