Industrial Training
Introduction
All Bachelor’s degree students under the Faculty of Technology Management and Technopreneurship (FPTT) are required to undergo industrial training as a compulsory component of their academic curriculum prior to graduation. The industrial training programme is designed to provide students with structured workplace exposure, practical experience, and professional competencies relevant to their respective fields of study.
For the:
- Bachelor of Technopreneurship (BTEC),
- Bachelor of Technology Management - Technology Innovation(BTMI) and
- Bachelor of Technology Management - High Technology Marketing (BTMM),
..students are required to undergo industrial training for a minimum duration of 24 weeks (six months).
Meanwhile, students enrolled in the Bachelor of Technology Management - Supply Chain Management and Logistics (BTMS) are required to complete a minimum of 12 weeks (three months) of industrial training.
All industrial training placements must be undertaken at approved organisations or companies relevant to the students’ program of study.
In general, the aim of industrial training is to provide students with real-world exposure, practical experience, and professional skills in technology management, technopreneurship, innovation, marketing, and supply chain-related industries. Students are expected to demonstrate professional, ethical, and accountable conduct throughout the training period, as they will be supervised by both industry supervisors and appointed faculty supervisors.
Assessment of the industrial training will be carried out based on evaluations from the faculty supervisor and industry supervisor, as well as the student’s industrial training report, logbook, and any additional programme outcome (PO) or feedback surveys administered by the faculty. The final evaluation will determine whether the student has successfully completed the industrial training requirement in accordance with faculty and university regulations.
